The guest count made one venue impossible, so the celebration ran across two: Taj Madikeri and Auricka by Lemon Tree. We split it by temperament rather than by logistics. Every traditional ceremony went to the Taj. The sangeet, the musical evenings and the smaller rituals went to Auricka.

That split is what let the decor swing hard in both directions without contradicting itself.

At the Taj, ultra traditional and deliberately so. A gold jaali screen strung with jasmine, set against the infinity edge with the Coorg hills behind it and white peacocks flanking. Stone elephants garlanded in marigold at the approach. A carved pavilion over the lily pond, brass lamps, a petal carpet running in. Nothing modernised, because the setting was already doing something no styling could improve on.

At Auricka, modern. Low seating in red and gold along the water's edge for daytime rituals, then at night a lit column dropped over the pool, crystal chandeliers and white florals reflecting off still water.
